Surreal Photography

WARNING - Some (most!) viewers may find Mr. Witkin's photographs disturbing or offensive. They leave a permanent impression on the psyche, and once seen, are never forgotten. Be careful, and don't look if you are easily shocked.

Of his collection Love & Redemption, my favourite image is "Interrupted Reading" (1999).
Another collection features "The Kiss" (1982) and has a good article about his 'family'.
Best title would have to be "Testicle Stretch With The Possibility Of A Crushed Face" (1982)

A Day's Thoughts

I want, when the rains come, to be of normal size so that any discrepancies are saved and only the wholeness of essence is seen.

This, forwarding to post offices all over, shall be my cry:

"Hear ye, oh wondrous shepherds! The florists shall save us! Listen not to those you fear, for they are having problems with their toilet. Regard only those who give you kindness, feeling safe in their arms."

Wanting nothing, happiness shall flow.

Rain only touches us.

Our ears watch crystal bubbles grown to a point skywards.

Drooping into the gardens, we climb the walls on trellises, thick with ivy and birds' nests, the odd flower bursting forth unexpectedly exploding in colours.

There are men, there are women, there are birds. Most other animals are away on holiday; they sun themselves while we sit and count clouds, crooning lovesongs to the wandering afternoon...
