A doom laden place in the hills

In March 1999, Mark and I went on a randomly meandering drive around the Yorkshire Dales. After getting lost, we came to this scary castle ruin in a valley, so got out to explore. I'm not sure where it is, but there's lotsa atmos for a film location. We later went on a similar outing in 2004 chasing follies.
