Jervaulx Abbey is situated northwest of Ripon, not far from another Cistercian monastery of Rievaulx Abbey. I visited the place in 2004 and took these photos. In one chamber, the pillars still remain which would have supported the ceiling; they look strangely complete and functional amidst the other crumbling ruins.
