on a snowy day in February 1999.
The Nave at Ely Cathedral has a fine
acoustic for the many
concerts held here.
The
Octagon at Ely Cathedral is a marvel of medieval architecture.
It was built to replace the original tower which collapsed in 1322.
The lantern tower seen here took fourteen years to build and weighs
200 tons!

Stained glass windows above
the altar at Ely Cathedral. The
Stained Glass Museum is well
worth a visit,
and features windows from medieval times to contemporary works.
