"POPPIES AND CORNFIELDS"
You are once again cordially invited to join us for the fourth Peace In Nature Walk, entitled "POPPIES AND CORNFIELDS", which was going to be held sometime in July 2004 when the poppies would be in full bloom. Unfortunately, the location which I'd discovered a few years ago, a nice spot near Tewin north of Welwyn Garden City with a fine wood to explore, had no poppies in 2004, 2005, nor 2006. Another poppy field I know near Dunstable was similarly empty, and there was never time in 2007 or 2008, so the walk was postponed another year. Hopefully 2009 will be more fertile - watch this space for a date... Meanwhile, here's some pics of my reconnaissance missions out there to inspire you:
This short Walk should be taken in radiant sunshine, preferably on a dreamy afternoon resembling a Cadbury's Flake advert. You'll be wanting to look a million dollars for the photo shoot. Children and dogs are welcome and encouraged; this Walk is much less strenuous than some of the others.
Completing this journey will add the following points: (where n=number of participants)
These points may be used in future drumming and life events.
Please register your interest by phone or email; once everyone has responded, a suitable date/time can be arranged. If you can't make this occasion, but are still interested, there will be many future outings, taking in other beautiful places off the beaten track which I've found during my travels around Herts, Beds and Bucks.
